To ensure your Volkswagen vehicle is always performing at its best, it needs to go through a routine maintenance schedule. When you go through one with Stein Automotive, our Volkswagen specialists are able to properly monitor the components and systems within your vehicle and determine what needs service. They make sure everything is in working order and catch any small issues before they become major problems. Not sure if your Volkswagen is due for service? Here are a few things you can do to help bring some clarity.
After every maintenance service, auto shops place a service sticker at the top left corner of your vehicle’s windshield. That sticker will have the mileage interval and date of when you need to return to a shop for service. If you see that it’s getting close to that date or if the odometer is close to the mileage interval, that’s when your Volkswagen will require service. Although you’ll be fine for going a little over the set date and mileage, we suggest you avoid going too far over.
Another way to determine when you need service? Check your Volkswagen’s motor oil. Vehicle owners should make it a habit to check their vehicle’s motor oil once every month, as this lets you know its status and condition. When looking at the oil, it should have a clear, amber appearance. If it looks like the oil has taken on a dark, dirty, and gritty look, that indicates your Volkswagen is in need of an oil change. Although this dirty oil is normal, continuing to drive with it could present problems down the road!
